 Live-in relationship is an arrangement in which both men and women live together without marriage and form physical relations like a husband and wife.

This trend has been seen in the people in the last few years due to changing social views. This change is seen in different areas of society.

In 2013, the Supreme Court issued a guideline regarding Live in relationship. According to this, the relationship that has been going on for a long time should be so long that it can be considered durable, this court will decide. If both partners have been sharing their financial and other types of resources for a long time, then this relationship will also be called live.

The Supreme Court of India has given a landmark judgment in support of live-in relationships, saying that if two people have been living with each other for a long time and have relationships, then they would be considered married.

According to the law, if you are living in a live-in relationship like a husband and wife without marrying, then it does not mean that when your heart gets bored with this relationship, then you can leave it easily. It also has some legal restrictions to maintain the dignity of this relationship. If any man is living in a live in relation then he should take all the responsibility like a husband. Also, if you break the relationship without cheating, that is, even with mutual consent, penalty can be imposed on the basis of the court's decision.

Why was there a need to make laws related to live in relationship?

Keeping in mind the safety of women, there was a need to enact laws in this regard to maintain social limits.

Due to the legal bond, women and men cannot use anyone for their fun or benefit. It is not that the relationship between woman and man is without any basis.
