Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana is a central government scheme through which relief packages have been released to benefit 80 crore Indian people. The main objective of this scheme is to help the economically weaker people.



What is Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana?


Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY) was launched by the Government of India in 2016. Under this scheme, income tax payers were given an opportunity to pay 50% penalty on it by disclosing their illicit funds.

For building and other construction workers

 Under the scheme, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY), for building and other construction workers, the central government has passed orders to use funds of Rs 31,000 crore to provide relief to the states.



Transfer of cash for poor and migrants under PMGKY.

About 80 crore persons will get benefits under the Prime Minister's Poor Welfare Scheme PMGKY (Food Scheme). Under this scheme, everyone will get 5-5 kg ​​of wheat or rice in addition to the benefits already received.

Given the importance of protein in Corona's crisis, the government will also provide one kilo of pulses of their choice to each household for the next three months.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, every health worker will also get a medical insurance cover of ₹ 50 lakh.

Through the PM-KISAN scheme, farmers are getting ₹ 6000 every year. Its first installment of Rs 2000 will be credited by the government in April 2020. It is estimated that about 8.69 crore farmers are expected to benefit immediately.


Benefit will be received from Prime Minister's poor welfare scheme

 MNREGA wages will be increased by Rs 20 from 1 April 2020 under the Prime Minister's Poor Welfare Scheme PMGKY.

Increase in wages under MNREGA will provide an additional benefit of Rs 2,000 annually to each laborer.

Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojana PMGKY

Farmers, MNREGA laborers, widows, poor pensioners, Divyang, women under Jan Dhan Yojana, women and families under Ujjwala scheme, livelihood missions, self-help groups for women, EPFO, organized workers under construction workers and Cash transfer will be done in eight parts in total through District Mineral Fund Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

- Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojana PMGKY:  For the next three months, Divyang, poor senior citizens, widows will be given ₹ 1000.


 Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana PMGKY:


Self-help groups: Women organized through 63 lakh self-help groups (SHGs) provide necessary support to 85 crore families. Collateral free lending limit will be increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.

Under Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojana PMGKY 3 crore families with below poverty line population will be given free LPG cylinder for three months.



Under the Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojana PMGKY, the Government of India will pay EPF contribution to both employees and employers (12% each) for the next three months. Primarily, this benefit will be given to companies in which less than 100 employees work and earn less than 15,000.



 For the organized sector, under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana PMGKY, the rules of the EPFO ​​scheme will be amended so that employees receive non-refundable advance of 75 percent of the total amount from their accounts or remuneration for three months, whichever is less. Will be allowed to do. Families of four crore workers registered under EPF can avail this facility.


Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana PMGKY, Jan Dhan account holders who are about 40 crore women will be given an ex-gratia amount of Rs 500 per month for the next three months to meet their household expenses. People have started getting benefits of the scheme from April 1, 2020.



 Benefits of Prime Minister's ration subsidy scheme


Under this scheme all ration card holders can avail and ration subsidy will be provided to about 80 crore beneficiaries of the country. In the country, the government will provide 7 kg ration for 3 months to the beneficiaries at the rate of Rs. 2 per kg and rice for Rs. 3 per person for three months.

So  the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana PMGKY is the Prime Minister's Poor Welfare Package announced for the poor and needy by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on the second day of lockdown, so that daily salaried workers can get benefits to fight the economy crisis.
