Latest news about Airlines and NOKIA-AIRTEL agreement

India's domestic airlines will cut salary allowances again

Various services have been shut down during lockdown due to COVID-19. These include railways, public transport and aviation services.

The situation is still that there are no clear signs of the resumption of these services.

No one can say when these services will be operational. This is the reason why India's domestic aviation services have considered cutting their employees' salary allowances.

These companies are companies like SpiceJet and GoAir. These companies want to change the pay structure of the crew. Taking steps like extending their pay leave without adding to their allowances.

These companies feel that there is a long lockdown of so many days and there is not much hope of passengers even after the lock down. The number of passengers who travel by plane will be very less. Keeping all these things in mind, the company has taken this step.

To prevent the spread of corona virus in India from March 23, a nationwide lock-down has been put in place which has led to the shutdown of aviation services. After the lockdown is over or relaxed, airlines want to start operating at a very limited level.

He feels that the number of passengers may come down in the coming times, which will also result in uncertainty in their earnings.

India's aviation services company SpiceJet has reduced its crew salaries by 30% and tightened promotion rules as well. According to the new pay structure that has been implemented in aviation companies, now the fixed salary will be paid only for 25 hours of flight, earlier the salary was paid for a flight of up to 50 hours which was Rs 35000. Now it has come down to ₹ 29000 rupees.

Apart from this, the company will not pay any kind of allowance to the employees after ceasing operations. The company has asked more than 250 employees to go on leave together and also said that they will not give them the salary of June.

During the next few months, the requirement of employees working in aviation companies will be very less. That is why this salary structure will help them to reduce their expenses.

Wadia of GoAir Aviation has spoken to pay only 50% of salary to its employees from June to October. And it said that she could increase it to 75% from November.

The employees of the company are already running on leave without pay and its deadline can be extended only after 3 May. The company can re-operate with 8 to 10 aircraft if the lock down is reduced. It was operating more than three flights a day before the lockdown. Now it can resume with about 50 flights.

According to sources monitoring the company's activities, full operations will be able to resume from March 2021 as per the company's business plan. As such, there is no need to have more staff for the crew until March. A GoAir spokesperson declined to comment on the entire matter.
