 The Reserve Bank of India also periodically broadcasts security related suggestions through various channels to prevent banking fraud and make people aware. Banks and other institutions also take care of security related issues to ensure the safety of transactions.

 Technically safety measures are taken but this may not always prove to be true as fraudsters find some common way. The Reserve Bank had issued new guidelines in March this year to reduce the risk of fraud and protect people's finances.

While doing internet banking, the following things must be kept in mind: -

  Password should be changed from time to time: -

Change your internet banking password after at least 3 months and do not share it with any other person.

 Use a personal computer:- 

While doing internet banking, you should keep in mind that you do internet banking from your own computer. Do not use Internet banking from a public computer or another person's computer.

 Do not share username and password: - 

When doing net banking, keep banking user name and password limited to yourself. Do not share it with anyone else. Also be cautious about the phone that comes in the name of bank or any other service and do not share your password with anyone on the phone.

 Monitoring of bank account: - 

You keep monitoring your bank account. By which you will know that whatever transaction is happening, you are doing it or someone else.

 Use of antivirus: - 

You should use antivirus in your computer for net banking. Turn the computer off after work. Whenever you do internet banking on your computer, do not just leave it open, but close it immediately after working because leaving the computer open can cause the computer to be hacked.

Always type the URL: -

Whenever you use Internet banking on a computer, always type the URL,do not work on the link based on previous usage.
